This study mainly represents the first Far infrared spectroscopic investigation of the inorganic pigments found in the paints from the palette of Feyhaman Duran, a famous painter in Turkey. On the other hand, provided that enough amount of sample is available, Far infrared spectroscopy is a useful analytical method particularly in characterisation of inorganic compounds such as painting materials and corrosion products, which are not active in the mid-infrared. Furthermore, far-infrared spectroscopy is a complementary technique to Raman spectroscopy in particular in the presence of fluorescence. Besides, the Raman spectra and Mid infrared spectra were recorded for investigation of the pigments (white, red, yellow and black) employed in art. We also built a small Far-infrared spectral library for the pigments used in the pallete of the artist in order to use our further Far-infrared studies of any other artists.
